Summer can drive.
Today I became co-driver and Summer had the reigns. It must be contagious rally driving in Skopelos because it didn’t take too long before Summer got the left hand drive manual gear change and was having some fun of her own around the bends, much to the excitement of the kids.
First stop was some pirate graves which are up in the mountains just out of Sendoukia along a dirt road and then a 15 minute walk. We were not really dressed for the walk as it was more of a hike. The old thongs were really not up to the task but we made it without a blowout. The views are amazing from here and the 3 graves sort of weird don’t really know why they were cut out of the rock and situated here overlooking the ocean.
From here drove over Mt Delphi to Delphi and did the coast road again, this time stopping at Limnonari.
This beach is awesome and super secluded at the base of the mountain with a little Taverna in the middle. We stopped and had our own home made lunch and bought a couple of beers. We enquired about getting a room for a few nights here as it was that nice and relaxed. Although without the car it would be difficult for us to shop for supplies.
We easily spent 3 hours here and I had a swim with the kids and played with the local pet dog. It was really fun. The water was a bit cold but still the sun had some heat on it.
We left here and went over to Stafilos one last time to see if we could see dolphins or seals. No such luck, couldn’t really tell but the people up the other end had limited swimwear on and we thought this may be on a nude beach. Unfortunately it was time for us to return the hire car. We stopped off at the shops, dropped the family off drove into town dropped the car off got my passport back and that was it. Really easy and stress free hire car experiance.
