Anzac Day in India.
Didn’t do too much today, Summer wasn’t feeling the best so we just hung around the local area for breakfast. Returned to the room for the girls to do some school work. I went out and got some take away Samosa’s for lunch with bananas. After we ate the girls settle down to watch a movie.
I then went for a walk around to Mahatma Ghandi’s old residence in Mumbai or Bombay back then. It has become a museum and very interesting. The life he had led in India, some of the hand written letter’s to Hitler, Roosevelt and the King at the time were on display.
After having a good look around Ghandi’s house left to go down to Chowpatty beach for sunset. This was all within walking distance of our place so really handy. Went down to the fishermen to check out what they had caught. Impressive catch, much bigger than the tiny fish caught in the nets in Sri Lanka.
I then went over to the street vendors to see if it would be OK for dinner here. Probably would be if it didn’t have the smell from the fish mongers and slums behind it. Returned back to the room and the movie was just about to finish so good timing, we just went for a feed around the local area and returned to the room to pack for our next flight.
